Policies

We are available Monday through Friday from  8 a.m. – 5 p.m

We try our best to accommodate our patients as much as possible when scheduling appointments. We have found that children with extensive dental work or children 10 years of age and younger are better to be seen early in the morning when they are fresher and can have a more positive experience. Some appointments may require the child to miss some school; however, these are considered excused absences. With continued care, appointments during school can be kept to a minimum.

We request 24-hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, but we ask for your help as a courtesy to all of our patients. Continued broken confirmed appointments may result in an additional charge.e.

What is a Pediatric Dentist?

Pediatric Dentists like Dr. Jones and Dr. Harrison are specialists dedicated to the oral health of children and the monitoring of their facial growth and development. Our office is designed to treat children from infancy through adolescence and those with physical, developmental and medical special needs.

Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist?

A pediatric patient not only has different dentition than adults, but they also have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to children. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education. We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their “cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them. Our office provides all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.

Pediatric Dental Topics:

The American Association of Orthodontists recommend that every child have an orthodontic evaluation

by the age of 7.

Early detection and treatment gives your child the edge - a much better chance for natural and normal development. By working with the natural growth instead of against it, we can prevent problems from becoming worse, and ensure your child a lifetime of healthy smiles!

Studies have shown that people who have straight teeth are more likely to smile more. This leads to a greater self esteem which may lead to a more fulfilling life.

Our Mission

We are serious about providing superior dental care at reasonable rates, and are dedicated to our patients’ needs.

Our office setting offers a fun, relaxing atmosphere for toddlers to teenagers. We kept our patients needs in mind when designing our office. We think it will be a place your children can't wait to visit time and again.

Our goal is to create a partnership with your family that will last through the years. We feel this is best accomplished by treating your children as our own; the greatest reward we can receive is the little smiles of our happy patients.

Our Team

Your child’s appointment will be comfortable and enjoyable because of our team and the relaxed environment that we have created. We want you and your child to feel right at home!

Each member of our treatment team is a registered dental assistant and our office staff have experience in treating children with the highest level of care.

We cultivate a relationship with each of our patients, which not only ensures better dental care for your children, but also turns an appointment with the dentist into a visit between friends.

First Visit

We are dedicated to great dental experiences.

Kaysville Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommends a first dental exam by your child’s first birthday.

During your first visit, you will be introduced to our Pediatric Dental Team, given an office tour and discuss your child’s unique smile and ways to keep it beautiful for years to come.

Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your baby’s head will rest on our doctor’s knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctor’s chair.

We request that you complete our First Visit Forms prior to arriving for your appointment. This helps our office to begin your appointment at your scheduled time.

Your initial exam will last approximately one hour. Oral hygiene instructions will be given with suggestions to help you and your child care for their teeth at home. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.

Please print and fill out your new patient forms and bring them with you to your first appointment.
